VR has recently taken the digital world by storm with several technology companies introducing headsets and software to support what many believe is the ultimate level of storytelling and immersion experience. Augmented Reality (AR) and VR have the potential to be a $182 billion market by 2025, according to Goldman Sachs.
For the Holidays, Golden Edibles is introducing a Virtual Reality application, featuring a selection of our extraordinary collection of Corporate gifting products.
The VR application features three sections to get to know our “Chocolate Covered Theater” and our Corporate Holiday Gifting Guide: 1) Experience the Products, 2) Meet the Artisans and 3) Role Play.
In the “Experience the Products” section, business buyers can select from 12 gourmet gifts that can be purchased for corporate gifting. Here, the user can experience VR to view several of our products and explore contents of our gift baskets at different angles. It’s an interaction with our chocolate covered strawberries, to simulate how our gourmet gifts are beautifully packaged and delivered for an ultimate gifting experience
In the “Meet the Artisans” section, the user will to watch a 360 degree video of our talented Artisans hand crafting chocolate dipped strawberries and packing them for delivery. This video is an up close and in room view of how it’s done.
In the “Role Play” section, Golden Edibles adds some fun and shows off our VR capabilities. The user can experience what it is like to be a strawberry and watch a fun animation from the point of view of the Chocolatier Artisan at work.
AR and VR are very innovative and a breakthrough for marketing and business applications. Our first version of the VR application gives a great demonstration of how we will be showcasing our gifting products and get our customers and business partners excited about the potential. Subsequent releases will be even more impressive, giving the VR application an ecommerce entity. Our vision is to bring the virtual store to life - creating a full gourmet gifting VR immersive shopping experience.
Golden Edibles partnered with Another Reality Studio to make our innovative marketing and ecommerce ideas come to life in a VR application. Another Reality Studio is a VR Development firm that works in many industries to bring new elements of immersion and technology. The app was recently showcased at the Harvard University Innovation Labs first VR/AR event featuring the exploration and education about the AR/VR ecosystem and how organizations are tapping into these frontier technologies to change the way the world works.
The Golden Edibles VR application was designed to be very user friendly. After beginning the application, you will be prompted to insert the device into the VR Unit. For the optimal experience, combine your mobile phone with a Google Cardboard VR unit. The unit has a button on the top right that will give the user the ability to select options within the application. The initial scene to the application is a virtual 360 degree environment with three sections to choose from. To make a selection, simply look at the section you would like to enter, aligning the red-dot cursor with the section button. Once aligned, the button will highlight its edges and the user can select their application by using the headset button. Within each section of the application, anything that is selectable will highlight when the red-dot cursor overlaps it, giving the user many options, such as viewing products or going back to the previous scene. Explore the app and find all of the interactions within using the cursor and button!
